Handling of paper rolls

On behalf of our client, an office supplies manufacturer, the ASL Warehousing team organised the specialist handling of customised paper rolls.

What made handling difficult?

The non-standard shape of the goods made it impossible to handle with a standard forklift. An additional complication was the high weight of each roll, reaching up to 2000kg. Aware of the specifics of the load, the ASL Warehousing team suggested the customer use specialised tongs, commonly referred to as ‘grippers’. These work very well with cylindrical goods where a normal forklift truck would not cope.
