ASL’s Sea Freight division has completed a shipment of chairs manufactured by Polish furniture company Fameg. The Australian company, which carries out projects for large clients, ordered the chairs, which were to be furnishings for two local airports.
Challenge
During transport, there were delays in the delivery of the fire-resistant chair fabric, which could have resulted in the contract being broken due to late delivery. We took the goods to the agent’s warehouse in La Spezia where the goods were upholstered with fire-resistant fabric, from where we shipped them to Sydney.
Solution
To save time, we took the goods to the agent’s warehouse in La Spezia, Italy, where the chairs were upholstered with non-flammable fabric and then shipped directly to Sydney. Despite the difficulties, ASL’s experts offered the client the most favourable solution, so the goods arrived on time.
