ASL’s Sea Freight division completed the transport of TV equipment and set design for the Hotel Paradise programme in Zanzibar.
Challenge
The difficulty of this shipment was that the entire load could not arrive at a later date than the technicians had strictly defined. On top of this, there were also documentation issues in Zanzibar, and the very nature of the cargo – 38 very non-standard crates weighing 8999 kg – posed quite a challenge for colleagues at ASL Customs. The ATA Carnet could not be used either, which greatly complicated the whole operation.
Solution
The transport conditions were precisely set and the whole process meticulously controlled. Despite the difficulties, the transport was successful and the goods were delivered within the timeframe set by the organisers.
