Special conditions of carriage
The transport of perishable goods mainly concerns foodstuffs (raw and processed), fruit and vegetables, plants and flowers, pharmaceuticals, some cosmetics, chemical products, alcoholic articles and other goods sensitive to temperatures and external conditions, as well as pollution.
The transport of perishable goods is regulated by the ATP Convention. It sets out in detail the standards associated with the transport of food and perishable goods. It contains provisions on products requiring special transport conditions and details on the mode of transport itself.
